Helping Our Neighbors - Part 1

It is so important to help out our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. This could be anyone from your family to the person sleeping on the park bench or someone who you pass by in the mall and might never see again. Jesus was always open to helping anyone that he passed by. We can see this throughout all the gospels. 

Hebrews tells us, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:16 

It pleases God when we make sacrifices. But we don’t have to make those kinds of sacrafices that they had to make in the Old Testament. A simple sacrifice from us is something like buying a sandwich for someone who isn’t able to buy one. That kind of thing pleases God. As long as it comes from your heart, doing something for someone is pleasing to God.  

Try to do something this week for someone who is less fortunate. You could even help your friend with their assignments from school. But remember, you could do many things, but they won’t mean anything if you don’t do it with love.
